Photography Question

Windows

I noticed in another thread Debby Tabb mentioned giving people the windows. I got kinda lost in reading the thread (well confused I guess). I didn't know if anyone could elaborate on using windows in posing for portraits, not anything long or complex, but maybe just the basic principles of it. Thanks.

  HEY JUSTIN,
I WOULD BE GLAD TO HELP.
IT IS A WAY OF DISCRIBING VACENT AREA AROUND THE TORSO AREA. AS YOU CAN SEE WHEN YOU GO BACK TO THAT POST- THE FIRST SHOT IS WITH THE ARMS DOWN AND THE BODY LOOKS STRAIGHT-AND QUITE LARGE.
AS I DISCRIBED A HEAD ON A MASS.
AS YOU POSE THE HANDS AND ARMS YOU CAN CREATE "WINDOWS" OF OPEN SPACE -GIVING YOU SEPERATION BETWEEN THE BODY AND THE ARMS-THIS GIVES YOU THE APPERACE OF A FIGURE AND USUALLY IT ALSO HELPS THE SUBJECT LOOK THINER AS WELL.
I DO HOPE THIS HELPS AND IF I CAN EVER BE OF ANY HELP,JUST HOLLER,
DEBBY
