film storage


How do I store film ? I have read that you can put it in the freezer. Do you leave it in the box? Do you take it out of the box and leave it in the plastic containers? Do you put it in plastic ziploc bags after removing the box?

Davin Edridge 		  Hello Rosalind,

When I used to use film - it depended upon the expiry date of the film, and when I thought I would be using it.
If I was going to use it well within it's expiry date - I would only refrigerate (not freeze) it.
In the Fridge - I leave it in the unopened box. In the freezer I place it in a ziploc plastic bag - still in the unopened box.
In either case - remember you have to leave it out in room temperature prior to use (usually few hours) - otherwise you can have condesation occur in your camera and on your film when exposed.
