Debby, Please take a look at my gallery. I have placed my "signature" and copyright year on most photos. I know you could actually sign, scan, and input your actual signature, but you asked for an easy way. This is how I made mine.

1. Open a new file in Photoshop (I assume you use PS. There should be a similar method in Printshop or other photo editors.) Size the file to about 4" wida and 2" high.

2. Use the Text tool and select you desired font from the drop-down list. My signature was made with Vladimir Script (rather close to my actual signature). Type in your studio name. The copyright symbol can be made by Alt+0169.

3. When you get it looking like you want, go to the Edit menu and select "Define Brush." Type in a name for the new brush such as "Studio Stamp."

4. Stamp your photo by selecting the brush tool and scrolling down to find "studio stamp" and place it on your photo.

Hope this helps.

Respectively,

John

That's exactly the way I do it. You can also rotate your canvas to 45 degrees that way your text is angled, then do your select and define brush.

I don't have a laptop(I wish I did!), so I really don't have any clue why it wont let you. Maybe the keyboards are set up different. Do you get a symbol, or is it just nothing? Maybe it's just different numbers that you have to press. Try opening Character map(Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map), then find the copywright symbol, then select it. In the bottom right-hand corner it should tell you the keys to press.

Hi all, I know you sorted yr copyright out ages ago, but I'm battling. I copied Johns instructions out, and somehow (!!!) have managed to create a 'signature/copyright'brush - but.... I can't make it stay on the pic!! I place it on the corner, or wherever, click enter, or left click... but when I move my cursor it moves with me!!! Help!!!!

  lol,lol Good Morning Robyn,
Man, don't feel bad- there are times I work with this stuff and get so frustrated!! everyone says it should be simple and I try and try....
then someone like Liza Franco comes along and says-" just try this and boom! done deal-
and it was a simple task-
what sucks is that we all seem to pick up different tricks-and I for one am always wanting someone elses tricks, lol.
So, for me it's a CONSTANT game of catch up.
have a wonderful day-I am sure you'll be teachin' someone else something they didn't know today. :-)

....PS: Liza is a wonderful teacher, and always willing to help.

It doesn't work with the number keys along the top row.. you need to use the number keys that are on the numberpad (which on a laptop are usually on the keys 7-8-9-u-i-o-j-k-l-m.. or something like that).. it requires the use of Alt + Function then corresponding keys for 0-1-6-9 (an external numberpad works too)
