Photography Question

Renata Lepage

not dispalyed photo int a contest

Hello,
I´d like to know if it´s necessary for a picture to be checked as "display" in my free gallery to have it in the month contest.
I mean, I have some pictures that I uploaded for the last month contest and I´d like to know if I "uncheck" the display box, the image will be able to keep in the contest.

Thanks.

Just don't delete them or they will be removed form a contest.

I'm new to BetterPhoto. I just uploaded a couple of images. What exactly happens when I click the display button? Is it the first step to entering a photo in the contest?

Checking Or Unchecking The Display Box Chooses Whether You Display The Image In Your Gallery Only Ken!If You Entered It Into The Contest Its Displayed There,If You Want To Enter An Existing Image In Your Gallery Use The Photo ID# Found In "My Photos"If The Photo Has Been In Your Gallery For A Number Of Days It Will Not Appear On The First Page Of The Current Contest Entries As It Will Find Its Spot In Numeric Order...
The First Step To Entering Is On The Filmstrip To The Left Under Contest,Enter To Win Click That:-)

I tried to upload another picture today. I went to "Enter to win", then typed in the 6-digit ID. I then checked the "terms/conditions" box and selected the category, then hit submit. Up popped my gallery that had 11 pictures in it. I wasn't sure what the next step was.

Also, just in case I did upload it, but wasn't sure, is there an easy way to determine if the upload was successful? Or is the only way to view the first couple of pages of pictures within the category?

If You Sign In And Go Back To The Upload Page The Drop Down Box With The Categories Listed Should Not Be There Ken, If Its Missing Then You Had A Sucessful Upload And The Box Will Reappear Tomorrow (One Photo Per Day Into The Contest)Hope That Helps.

My Procedure To Enter By Photo Id Would Be Sign In,That Takes Me To My Member Center,Upload New Photos Or Enter The Contest This Takes You To The Upload Page,Since The Image Is Already In Your Gallery And I Assume It Has A Title And A Description, On The Right Side Enter ID #In The Box Select Camera,Choose The Category And Check The Two Boxes And Hit Sumbit Your Photo,It Should Go In As Long As The File Size Isnt To Large And The Image Is Sized No More Than 500 Pixels On The Short Side.

Saved as a JPEG, TIFF, BMP, or PING file type.
Sized to no more than 500 pixels on the short dimension. For example:
500 (w) x 750 (h) for a vertical image.
750 x 500 for a horizontal image.
500 x 1250 or so for a vertical panoramic image.
Preferably 72 pixels per inch.
Less than 2.5 MB. Files larger than 2.5 MB are not accepted.

Thanks, Terry. The category drop down box is missing, so I suspect it uploaded it someplace. I'll try again tomorrow.

Oh, and my picture meets the criteria you listed.

Ken
