Photography Question

Angela Johnson

Best digital SLR's to consider?

I just recently returned from Paris and took both my Nikon N80 and a small compact digital. I found myself shooting with the digital more than the N80 - absolutely loved it !!! So, I would like to invest in a good digital (SLR). Any recommendations? I'm an amateur photographer who plans on selling my work via a website ...

Thanks from Chicago !

  hello Angela,
I have the Pentax *istds and I love it!! It is easy for me to use and fits really well in my hand. The price isn't that bad either. I recommend that you go to a camera store and take a look at all the brands and then go from there. Since you already have a Nikon, look into that camera first since you may already have lenses for it. You will know what will work for you when you see it. I hope this helps a little bit, and good luck on your findings. Don't forget to compare all the brands.
good luck again!!! mlg

  Hi Michelle -
Thank you for your reply. Great advice. I was interested in other brands, but since I already have two Nikon lenses ... I should probably look at that line first. Thanks and have a great holiday. AMJ

The N80 can go on Ebay or trade it in if your local camera shop can do so. Then, since you already have a couple of lenses, just stay in the Nikon system. However, you still have time to compare Canon SLRs and their vast array of lenses. Either way you won't regret going digital. It's a digital world out there.

  Hi Angela,
I haven't touched my Nikon N80 in over 2 years. I started with a Nikon Coolpix 5700, and last year got the Nikon D70. It is really fantastic, and I have been adding more lenses as well. You really can't go wrong with the D70, or the new D70s. Now I would love the Nikon D2x, but can't justify the price.
