This happened to me yesterday, although I didn't follow the rule exactly, I just made sure it was less than 2MB. But it looked blurry, so I sharpened in PS again and now I think they look ok (ones of my son in the red jumper).

If I remember correctly, when I resize my images I set it to something like 4x6 at 100dpi or maybe 4x5 if it looks better, either way, I don't just change the dpi, but I keep the dimensions there too. It has always been less than even 1MB.

Carolyn: What software are you using (Photoshop Elements?) and what process are you using for downsizing your images? If you have Elements 3.0 there is a good way to maintain better image quality. When you use Re-Size, there is a drop down menu at the bottom of the box. Normally, it shows BICUBIC. Change that to BICUBIC SHARPER each time you want to downsize an image.
