Photography Question

Mike Carpenter

Input on my photos.

Could people please look at my gallery? I'm thinking of getting a booth at a SMALL fair near where I live and I'm not sure if I'm ready. I would love some HONEST feedback. Please be very honest I don't mind, it's the only way to get better. Thank you.

  Hey man -
These look great - Don't know what you mean by ready? If you think you are - then you are :-) -- I really love your shots - If they print as good as they look here you should do well - The only thing it takes for art to be good is for someone to think it is good! Often it is the artist who has the most trouble doing this - LOL

keep shootin' - great stuff

For what it's worth..I like your work a lot. Your Seatle scenes are beautiful as are most of your shots. Go for it and best of luck to you.

Thank you everyone. I guess I'm just afraid of not selling anything and feeling like it's not good enough. I guess you never know until you try.

  Hi Mike,

1.Yosemite stream - more poetric...nice shot, I guess, you might have shot in "low"shutter speed. The result is wonderful.

2.Water fall - More static...but cann't say, not good. It stands unique among others.

3.In bloom - Wowowo...Isolation of a single flower, your DoF concious...Lucky flower, I can say! Nice shot. It is pleasing my eyes to watch it, since it is placed off-centre .

4.halfdome'sHat - hahhaha, Your imagination , went on framing the subject ....! Yes, I welcome !!!

It doesn't mean rest all pictures are not to be seen , other than these four.

All are beautiful shots!

With Regards,

Wow, Mike. I'd say all your lacking in photography is your confidence. These are really beautiful pictures that seem to stand out from the crowd. I hope this thread gives you the encouragement to pursue :). Good Luck!

Oh my! These are gorgeous!! Are you expecting to just sell one size, one copy of each print or sell with a few of each and have them numbered? once again, great work!

Actually I have never sold a photo before so I have no idea. I'm thinking 8x10 matted for $40. It's a start. I thank everyone once again for the kind comments. It really helps.

Funny thing, I've seen these sort of requests before and thought "oh no, another dude with aspirations but little talent",...that is before I went to your gallery. Very nice work. I like it (and a little envious) and after all, nothing ventured nothing gained. You put positive energy and attitude into your photography? and you'll get positive energy back.
Good luck Mike!
