The size of slides scanned stored into computer I have been scanning 35 mm slides into my computer. I work on the image in PhotoShop. I file it in TIFF in the computer or on CDs. I never enlarge the image except on the monitor while I work on it in PhotoShop. Under "image size" in PhotoShop the size is kept the same. When I want to make a print, I open the file and make the enlargement for printing. Is this the correct way to do it or should I enlarge the image while I work on it and before I store it?

Why not convert them to jpg for storage purposes? When you want to print one of your slides, simply re-scan it. (The slide is your original so you can save a lot of disc space by not storing large TIFF files.)

Thank you very much for responding to my question. I am trying to archive these slides. I am no expert in digital photography. I have a book "Mastering Digital Photography and Imaging by Peter K. Burian. He states that the best thing to do is store a slide as TIFF. Later when you want to make a print, you make print from that TIFF file. When I scan these slides in, work on them,, and then store them, the image size remains the same ca. 1.3"X0.9". I obviously enlarge the image in Photoshop to work on it This is not really enlarging the actual image is it? I have been assuming it always remains ca. 1.3"X0.9" until I want to make a print from it. Am I right? I want to thank you again for responding to my letter so fast. My internet connection has been going on and off for several days. Thanks again. Dannie
