Photography Question

Alexis

Epson R1800 or 2200

I'm upgrading my Epson 1270 and have been looking at the R1800 and the 2200. I do a lot of photo restoration work and my photographer suggested the 2200 (she loves hers, and it replaced her 1280.) However I've read so many articles about both of these printers and the differences that I swear my head is going to explode with all this info. I've gone to order the R1800 twice but my gut feeling is telling me to hold off, plus my daugther was pitching a fit when I last tried to order the printer over the phone, and I had to hang up. Can anyone please tell me if they have used both printers, seen both printers or seen the identical print from each of these printers. I did find out that the 2200 does give a better b/w on matte heavy weight paper, and that it has the lighter black where as the R1800 does'nt. I'm a graphic artist so I'm not printing the quantity of photos out like a photographer, but I do need to give my clients high quality prints that are archival and maybe water-resistant.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Many thanks
Alexis Burroughs
