Photography Question

What software for Raw

I was wondering if there is a concensus on what software to use when converting RAW files. I have the File Utility thT came with my Canon 10D, the program that's now included in Elements 3 and another one from BreezeBrowser. I can't determine which is best. They all seem to have advantages in one respect or another but something tells me I'm just making problems for myself and should stick with one. Any ideas out there?
Thanks in advance

Dennis

I always try to use the one provided by the manufacturer -Canon, in my case too-. If it fails to do its job (happened once), first I write an angry email to Canon, then convert it with IrfanView (free). The only time it failed, it was having problems (conflict) with another program.
Also, I like the updated version of Canon's software. you can acutally edit the raw image now :)

Dennis: The Canon converter is fine but slow.

Which alternative is best? That's a subjective judgement to a great extent. The PhaseOne products are superb - $99 for LE:

Pixmantec offers a free converter - Free for now, anyway. Eventually, the free version will expire and they will charge a fee for renewal.

I have tested RawEssentials and it's great IF you set sharpening to a lower level. Try setting -30 as a starting point.

You can do that with Paramater adjustment. That option is next to the green question mark at the top of the screen.
