Whats wrong with my flash/camera?

I have a Canon D10 and I have been using a AF Quantary QTB-7500A bounce twin flash with a dedicated module. It seems to work fine for the first couple of shots, then all the sudden it wants to fire when it feels like it. I know the batteries run down fast with flashes, but I can take two shots and then the ready light will come on and it still will not fire for like the next 5-8 shots. Can you guide me in the right way to fix my problem? The flash is only 6 months old.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the QTB-7500A is compatible with Canon digital SLRs. The DSLRs require E-TTL (low power preflash for flash metering before the shutter opens) and the QDA-CAF module for the 7500A is for Canon's traditional TTL film cameras.
