Printing Digital Photos From Photoshop 6.0

Using a Nikon Supercool Scan 2000 to scan negatives and Photoshop 6.0 with the Epson 2000P photoprinter, when printed out the colors seem unsaturated with a cyan or greenish hue. The photo doesn't seem to match the image on the monitor which looks accurate. I'm using Adobe 98 RGB as color source. On the printer settings, I'm using custom settings and need to slide saturation level all the way to the right about 20 to match the image. Any suggestions to get better output to match the original photo on this printer?

Have you calibrated your monitor? That makes a huge difference. You can read how in the Photoshop tutorial.

Part of your problem is that you're working in RGB mode. RGB can produce colors which CMYK (the mode used for printers) can't produce. To get an accurate rendition of your colors as you will see them in the print you need to switch to CMYK mode. Also, it doesn't hurt to calibrate your monitor, like the guy above mentioned.
