Photography Question

Lynne Allen

WHAT EQUIPMENT TO US

I HAVE A CANON DIGITAL REBEL EOS. I HAVE PURSHASED THE LENS 26-135MM ULTRASONIC. I WAS TAKING PICTURES OF MY GRANDAUGHTER WITH THE SPEEDLITE 550EX FLASH ON TOP OF THE CAMERA. THE PICTURE CAME OUT BLURY. I AM LOOK FOR A BAR TO PLACE THE FLASH BAR UP HIGHER OFF OF THE CAMERA. I AM THINKING THAT THIS WILL HELP. I MA VERY NEW AT THIS SO I NEED SOMEONE OPINION.

THANK YOU

The flash bracket/bar will help place the shadows lower and less obvious. There are many that will work. You will need to connect the speedlight and camera with the Canon Off Shoe Cord 2. You may also try bouncing the flash (pull up the 550EX's diffuser panel to deflect light forward as well)

The reason for the blur is the shutter speed was set too slow and captured the subject's movement. Since you want the backround/backdrop to be black, set the shutter speed to the x-sync (1/200 for the Digital Rebel).
