Photography Question

Ann Patrick

The color black in my prints have negative look

When I print images with dark colors expecially blackthey look fine if you are looking straight into them but if you look from an angle the black seems to take on a shine and appears white and the picture almost looks like a negative. It also looks as though the ink is "sitting" on top of the paper. Other wise they look good. I'm using a hpdeskjet 940c printer and Kodak Ultima Picture Paper High Gloss. Thanks for any help with this.

You might try some different paper. Be sure to research your paper choices to ensure good quality. If you think about it... The ink is sitting on the paper. Inkjets spray ink to make the image whereas true photopaper the color is in the paper and not just on the paper.

  Thanks John,
I was also thinking along those lines - that the glossy finish may not be allowing the ink into the paper itself but I wanted to hear from someone with a little more experience.
