Panorama query

With my panorama shots--see example-- I find that in order to get any reasonable height to them, the width becomes unmanageable. Is this simply the nature of the beast or am I doing some thing wrong; should I be simply shooting them vertically? Thanks in advance
Dennis

Well a regular shot has a 50% increase of the width relative to height, so if you put to horizontal shots together, you're just accentuating it.
The more pictures, the more drastic it becomes.
All it takes is two inches added and you have a picture twice as wide as it is tall.
You're not doing anything wrong, you're just doing a pano. they are what they are, super wide. I did think about doing one with vertical pics just for fun. You can always use wider angles, but you have the natural focal length distortion. You can try to get around it by using more of the center of a pic and use more pics to put together.
