Photo Software Question

Can anyone tell me who makes the software that takes many images and blends them into one large photograph? If you look at the end result closely you can see that it's made up of many, many smaller photos. This technique was used in a big ad campaign about 3 years ago and I know it is now available off the shelf.

Check out the following link. It describes how to do it using Photoshop Elements. the author of The photoshop 5.0 Bible also describes how to do it in that program - so, if you have Version 6.0, 7.0 or CS, you probably can do it also.

I use a freeware one available from the German site:
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.foto-freeware.de/mosanick.php&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmosanik%26num%3D30%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff
Copy and paste link into your address bar and should reach the download page.
Creates a mosaic made up of multiple smaller images you chose, with what image you wish to be the final image.
