Hi Ziad, The term MACRO applies when the final image is as large or larger than real life. For instance you can ZOOM in on a really nice looking girl from far away and get a nice shot but the image is 3 or 4 inches tall and represents a 5'4" person. You can MACRO ZOOM up to an ant and the image is 3 or 4 inches when the subject is .25 inch. Get it??? Have a great day!!!

This is true, but beware of the term "macro-zoom", ...since I doubt if they will allow you to focus that close. Most zoom lenses which boast "macro-capability", won't focus anywhere near life-size. (Check the life-size reproduction specs. They will usually say 1:4 or 1:5 ((translation: 1/4 or 1/5 lifesize). For true 1:1-lifesize reproduction, a macro prime lens is your best option. Or, you can just attach extension tubes between your camera body and current lens to get in real close.
