Photography Question

Help!! I need some ideas for family portraits.

I have a few "normal" poses for family groups but I am stumped on some creative ideas. I have one group of 3 (mom, dad, 7 year old girl), and one group of 5 (mom, dad, 3 boys ages 13, 11,8)to shoot in the next few days. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Are they studio or outdoors? A lot of times, I have my clients sit down & interact with each other & then, snap away. Hugging ones, kissing each other, having mom & dad lay down & kids on top. If outdoors, try & find a low tree branch & have mom & dad standing holding little ones on the branch. Also, another one with small families is having them walk slowing along a path in a park, holding hands & you in front snapping away. And even though they may not ask, do ones of mom/kid(s) and dad/kid(s). Remember, the candid ones are usually the best!!! Hope this helps!!! Dale

Hope I can upload this photo I'm about to explain--I've never tried this.

I took this one a couple of weeks ago as I was shooting my daughter and her fella for engagement photos. They wanted one with my granddaughter. Maybe I love it so much because of the people in it, or maybe because I remember how darned fast I had to be to get my granddaughter before she jumped up and took off. Whatever the reason, I do like taking cockeyed photos and looking down at the subjects. And another thing I like to do--get online and pull up other photographer's sites and get ideas for poses. I'm a new member and looking forward to getting in the galleries here!!

Thank you both for your suggestions. They will be outdoor photos so I will be giving those ideas a try. Thanks again

Okay, my response posted while I was playing with the pictures! I'll try again. Bear with me--this may turn out the same...
