Olympus IS3-DLX Would like your recommendations on the Olympus IS3-DLX vs. the Canon Rebel 2000. I'm looking for an autofocus camera that has ability to do good people/portrait pictures as well as flexibility to do some nature/telephoto shots.

The Olympus doesn't give you the ability to switch lens. It does, however, feature a long zoom lens (35-180mm); this should be enough unless you like close-ups of birds, wildlife or kids playing off in the distance. The Rebel is more traditional size and shape. Go for the unusual Olympus only if you have been unhappy with the way a traditional 35mm SLR feels in your hands. The Olympus may handle being abused a little longer. The Rebel is light and requires a bit of a delicate touch. If you doubt you will ever want anything more than an all-in-one system, go for the Olympus. If you take good care of equipment and think you might get into photography as an creative art, go for the Rebel.
