How to shoot Glass paintings

Hi I would like to know how to shoot glass paintings. These are paintings done on a transparent glass using oil paint and there are some special paints available for doing this. I have a nikon F80 camera a Nikon 70-300 F4/5.6 ED lens with UV filter, PK20 extention tubes full set and a Nikon 28-80 F3.5/5.6G Lens with UV filter. Please let me know using these equipment how I can get good pictures of them. Most important thing I want to know is to portray them as Glass paintings with its transparent effect and not as ordinary paitings with a black back graound Thanks in advance for all your advices.

regards
Anand

One suggestion I have is to place the light source behind the painting, just like taking photos of the stained window inside a church. You may also need to use a big diffuser on the light for even lighting on the painting. Just a thought.
