I am confused. The category about historical rooms / flowers is confusing to me. I see just rooms then I see just flowers. Does it have to be an historical room with flowers? Someone please clarify. Thanks.

Here's how I interpret this. The overall category is Still-Life/Flowers, the theme for this month is Historical and Meaningful Rooms. So Still-Life and Flowers have been combined into an unusual (to me) category, with the Historical and Meaningful Rooms theme being an unusual (to me) still-life. So for this month, in this category, enter photos of Historical and Meaningful Rooms (with or without flowers, I think). Flowers alone really have no place to go except Catch-All this month. This is just my thinking, though. Jim is really the only one who could clarify this.

Well, thank you for the answer. I just entered the Historical Room (with no flowers) and will hope for the best. Again, thanks for the explanation as you see it. I saw it the same way.

My interpretation of the sub-theme is the same as Lindley's, Harriet. I've put two rooms in so far . . . no flowers in either one. I think there are many who still aren't "getting" that the sub-theme is not just a suggestion but a requirement for the month and the over-arching theme is just there for very vague, general guidance for Jim when he chooses the sub-themes.

But I agree that this is an odd choice for a sub theme in Still Lifes and Flowers - neither of my entries is what I would properly call a still life . . . even in the broadest sense of the term.

I was confused too. I just entered my flowers in Catch-All.

I just posted a reply to one of the members who is also very confused with the still-life/flowers category! What the heck does an historical or meaningful room have to do with either still/life or flowers? I'm also having a hard time with the results of the question: Do you like the catgeories the new way or go back to the old way...over 50% like the new way! The majority here on the forum definitly perfer the old way for the categories! There is no majority for the new way in the forums! I'm scratching my head!
And what is going to happen to all the flower images that have been posted in the still-life/flowers category this month? I'm still scratching my head and it's not dandriff!
