my pictures on google

I was doing a google search for a possible name I might use for an online print on demand store. I looked up Christine Greenspan Designs, wondering if that name was taken. I found many of my photos from my BP gallery, and my website, posted on google along with pictures of another Christine Greenspan (a business person, not a photographer), Alan Greenspan, and a whole bunch of other Greenspans. There was no right click protection, though clicking on the pictures brought me here to my gallery or to my website. Not thrilled about this and wondering what I can do. Post smaller resolution photos here? I know BP and my website host have no control over this. I don't know much about how it all works, so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Yes, Christine, Gregory has it right.

And many of us who work hard to get noticed in the hopes of at least occasionally selling a piece are very grateful for the exposure :)

The only thing you can do is quit putting any of your work online, here or elsewhere. And that will only "help" with work going forward - what's out there is out there.

Thank you both. I figured as much, but was surprised and felt kind of out of control. It's only a happenstance of having a same last name. I appreciate your help, and I'll try to get up to speed! (I'm an out-of-date Nana, and my grandson is amused!)

Christine -- it's possible for a public website like BP to hide your images from public searches. As far as I know, BP doesn't let us configure this, but on Flickr I have an option: Hide your stuff from public searches". As Nikki mentioned, most photographers on BP are glad to get the visibility, which is probably why this hasn't been offered as a configurable option here.

Thank you, Martha. I appreciate your insight! I realize now it's not a huge deal, but I was really surprised.

That was partly what I was trying to say in my post a few weeks ago, Christine. Guess you are more articulate than I am. Thank you!
