Photography Question

George E. Onley

Where is the rest of my picture?

I have a Cannon EOS 750,I just bought recently used. The first two rolls 36 exp. prints were great! Now last 2 rolls have 1/4 to 1/2 top of photo missing(black bar),17of24&6of24 not in order some photos in between are good.Could it be the film, developer or camera?

Hmmm, this is just a quess, but it sounds to me like the film is not loading right. Can you make extra sure next time that when you load it, you are tucking enough of the film tab in(but not too much) before you shut the camera back and load the film? If this does not work, I would take the camera to a Canon dealer/repair shop and see what they say. I have not had this problem with my EOS Ellan IIE before, but have taken my camera in for other things and have found out that I will never trust my camera to a non Canon repair man again! So I hope this helps and hope you get your problem solved. Good luck!

Stephanie,I thank you for your responce and I went to my Cannon dealer monday only to find that's his one day off besides Sun.,I geuss I should have called first,so tomorrow is another day.I thought about the loading of the film and hope that's not the case and can't understand how it could be when all my prints are centered with the #'s of the negatives and for example on the one roll only 6 had the black bar as I call it.They were shots 1-3,7,9&20 0f 24. My camera has a pre-wind system which winds the film to the end then shoots down rewinding the film into the cartridge it also beeps and would show an E if improperly loaded. So I'm looking elsewhere for now.Once again Thank you! & I will be checking out your site,my pictures& ex.'s ?

Are you using the flash on some of the pictures while the others are taken without the flash? If this is the case, it almost sounds like you flash is out of sync with the shutter, meaning that your shutter is opening either a little sooner or later then the flash is going off. My suggestion is to bring your camera and the negative to the place you bought it from and have them check the camera out. If they are a good company, they will run a test roll through right there and if they have a lab, develop the negatives so that you can see the results immediately.

Once again, thank you all,I do know now that there is a problem along those lines,Veronica plus the shutter isn't opening and closing properly even when flash is turned off. So creating the black bar,I think I might have this problem fixed. As for the flash in sync. W/ shutter, it is operating, and at times it's out of sync. and doesn't flash or does when shutter is in between. more news later. tyA.
