Pixelation?

First off, I'd like to say I love the new larger image size available with the Platinum uploader. Bravo!

However I've noticed that with its arrival the backgrounds on shallow DoF images are highly pixelated. I see the problem on images uploaded with both the Platinum and Alternate uploaders. Is this being worked on?

Also, it would be great if the EXIF data could show for images uploaded with the Platinum uploader, as it does for images uploaded with the Alternate uploader.

TIA!

On further review, the problem seems to be in the display, not in the upload process. The effect is hard edges where they should be soft and/or a crosshatch pattern, most obvious on areas of contiguous tone like backgrounds and skies.

Try a larger sized image to upload and see if that helps.

Thanks for the response, Gregory. I just tried the full-sized JPEG version of my test image using the Platinum uploader and the effect is the same, or worse. I believe it's related to changes made in the display by BP to optimize viewing on small devices. (I see the same effect on shallow DoF images uploaded on BP a long time back.) I wrote to support and they are looking into it.
