Share buttons Is there any way to turn off those share buttons? I have a pretty slow internet connection and trying to comment on the recent contest entries takes forever...Having to wait for those buttons on the left to load each time I want to comment makes it take so long for me it really takes away from my enjoyment of commenting...I would not mind it so much if they were just on the page with the comments, but do we really need them on the contest pages too? Who is going to share a whole page of images???

I tried using the comment editor and it did not work ...anyway, I wanted to edit my question, so here goes: Is there any way to turn off those share buttons? I have a pretty slow internet connection and trying to comment on the recent contest entries takes forever...Having to wait for those buttons on the left to load each time I want to comment makes it take so long for me it really takes away from my enjoyment of commenting...I just counted how many clicks it took me to make a comment on somebodies gallery starting by clicking on their name by their comment on my image...It took 12 clicks of the mouse to go to their gallery, go to an image, go to respond, comment and get back to my gallery...with my slow connection, that is about 5 minutes for each comment... I would not mind it so much if the share buttons were just on the page with the comments, but do we really need them on every page ? I mean who is going to share pages like the ones you manage your photos on? Does it really need that time consuming feature?

Is anybody else having this problem of it taking forever to comment on pictures? Out of frustration I have not been able to comment...It takes me at least 2-5 minutes for each comment with having to wait for all those buttons to appear each time...and even longer if I "love" a picture...I used to comment on average of about 20-30 pictures a day...now I get so frustrated I do maybe 3-4 before giving up...Sometimes I comment and it takes at least 3 minutes before it shows up! I have tried clearing my cache, cookies , logging out and in...I sincerely do want to comment..but until I figure it out how to get back to the old way of commenting I just will have to give up the pleasure...BTW I have written to the staff and nobody ever responded...Disappointed...:-(

I wrote to Jim again and he actually removed the buttons for me! Happiness that now I can once again comment!!! THANK YOU JIM!!!!

It looks like not only yours got removed. I got a call asking where they went from Donna M. and when I looked, mine are also gone. I don't use mine much anyway, but she does. I think she was going to email Jim.

Jill, even with my high speed internet connection commenting and moving between pages on Better Photo is always slower than other web sites so I know you'd have even more trouble. I'm not sure that the buttons are the problem though. Even when they were gone it took a long time for a comment to register. I've started clicking over to something else while I wait for the Better Photo page to refresh because it takes so long.

Hi Irene, I do the same thing...but for me once those buttons were gone I could comment easily. Instead of just commenting on maybe 5 or 6 images, I was back to doing about 30...There is an app I could download that makes them go away, but there are times when I do want them to share stuff on FaceBook...Oh well. you can't make all the people happy all the time right? :-)

I have high speed internet and commenting takes a long time for me, too. I do other things while the comments are getting posted. It is very frustrating.

I did figure out how to shit them off myself, but found it did not make any difference...BP is slow as molasses...and I get impatient waiting for comments to show up. watching that little thing twirl around :-) I do try and get a few comments in when I can ...Sorry...

Oddly, commenting on today's contest entries went fairly smoothly. But I've been trying ever since they were announced to congratulate folks in the winners' circle because the site just spins and spins. I tolerated the molasses till the 3rd photo I tried, when it had spun for more than 3 minutes before I gave it up (of course, it took 3 more minutes to log out). Sorry, but I just don't have that kind of time (and I DO have high-speed Internet).
