STUDIO LIGHTING WILL NOT FLASH

I HAVE A NOVATRON 1500 STUDIO AND HAVE USED IT VERY LITTLE.I HAD A PHOTO SHOOT AT 4:00 ON SATURDAY SO I STARTED SETTING UP ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE.I WANTED TO DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING. ABOUT 3:00 I DID A METERING CHECK WITH FLASH METER AND THE LIGHTS FIRED. I MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS AND TRIED TO FIRE THE LIGHTS AGAIN BUT THEY WOULD NOT FIRE.I AGED 10 YEARS IN 20 MINUTES.I FEEL THAT IT MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH A MONO LIGHT THAT I AM USING WITH THE NOVATRON 1500 POWER PACK. I FEEL THAT MAYBE IT SHORTED SOMETHING OUT.I UNPLUGED THE POWER PACK AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND IT STARTED TO WORK AGAIN.I READ THE TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION IN THE MANUAL AND IT WASNT MUCH HELP.THE POWER PACK HAS A RESET BUTTON BUT I COULD NOT FLIP IT.SHOULD I BE ABLE TO RESET IT WITH THAT BUTTON.THANKS, PATRICIA

  Sue,
Often times it's a bad sync cord. I use Novatron, and have had the same problem on occasion. Each time it was the sync cord that went bad suddenly. Replacing the sync cord did the job for me.
I would recommend ALWAYS having a spare cord available.
