Selling Prints

Hi. I'm new. Just joined today and I have a pretty stupid question I'm sure. I signed up for the Deluxe Web page and plan to sell my photos (hopefully) but, how does that work? I mean, is it up to me to print my photos that are bought (stupid part) and if so, can anyone help me to understand how to do that? OK. I'm ready for the "Oh gezz!!" :)

  laura,
there are many avenues one can go down to sell photos. If you must print your own, learn all you can about printers,(epson makes several affordable high quality printers. Photoshop also can help in bringing out the best in your images. Photographers market can also give you leads as to who will buy. If you subsrcibe to any photo magazines, there are services listed within them that will do the printing for you for a nominal fee depending on the size of the prints requested. I hope this is helpful. cm

Thanks Christopher. I just wasn't sure how it all worked on here. I do have an Epson printer which I really like and I just bought Photoshop. I'm still learning that though. I appreciate your response. It was nice meeting you and I can't wait to get to know everyone here. Thanks again and have a great weekend. laura

If you are planning on selling elargements, find a lab close by that can produce high-quality prints from your digital images (or negatives).
They will be of better quality and will probably last longer than anything you can produce on your own. (That can be a selling point.)

If you price your work properly, the cost of printing and shipping can be passed on to the customer and you can still make a nice profit.

(...but your work must be salable.)

Thanks Einar for the links. This brings me to another question as I am trying to learn all that is involved and what it all means.

1) What are the Pro's and Con's of Royalty Free...?

2) What is exactly is "Stock" photos as well as the other options in which you can sell your photos (other than as products)?
