Polarized Filters
2nd question, I want to purchase a wide-angle lens for tour in Turkey later this year (to shoot the temple) Any recommendations? Thanks.
I'm really happy with my Canon EF 20-35 f/3.5-4.5 USM. I've also heard that that the Tokina AF193 19-35 f/3.5-4.5 is good. These zooms are very convenient, but may not be the best choice for archecture photos since they have noticeable (but not bad) barrel distortion at the wide end (straight lines get curved). The effect can be minimized with careful composition. I haven't used it, but the Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX Aspheric DG sounds very appealing. The extra 1-2 stops of aperture and ability to focus to 7.1" would be very useful for interiors.
Thanks. I have to try to see the actual effect because I think barrel distortion is acceptable (part of the emphasizing effect). It seems to me the Sigma is also especially appealing for making interior wide angle.

I am using a EOS 500N camera and a 72 Tamron 28-300 lens. I tried to used circular polarized lens in sunny days and the results were pretty good. The only thing is that I really cannot control the optimal degree of overlap through of the polarized lens. Is there any tips and rules on adjusting degree of overlapping?

Hi Ken,
I don't understand what you mean by "degree of overlap", so I'll skip to question 2 - wide angle lens for EOS.

Hi,Jon.I am also traveling to Turkey this year.It will be my second visit. The people of Turkey are the friendliest I have ever meet. You will love it.When concidering your choice of lens bare in mind not only landscape. But also the people.Everyday you will witness people, occupied doing crafts and everyday activity ,which is no longer carried out in more modern countries.Often dressed in national dress. It is also posible to visit mosques, which in stricter muslim countries is not easy. The interiors of these buildings is fantastic.I will be taking my Sigma 28-200,plus a 2x teleconverter. This will be sufficient. And still leave me with space for all the goodies I will be purchasing whilst there.Believe me, when you see how much you can buy for your money there .You will load up also.Have a great time I know you will.
