Selecting wedding film

What color print films do you recommend for indoor weddings?

  Ralph,
Consumer films won't cut it for weddings. They do not have enough latitude to capture detail in a white wedding dress and in a dark tux right next to it.

I've used these two films with superb results:
Kodak Portra 160NC
Kodak Portra 400NC

Agfa and Fuji makes similar excellent films:
Fuji NPS 160
Fuji NPH 400
Agfa Portrait 160

What film speed you use will depend on how much light your flash can generate. If your flash has a GN of about 125 (ISO 100 in feet) you should be able to use an ISO 160 film. Watch your distance and don't get too far away. If not, then use an ISO 400 film. As important as the film choice is the printing. I recommend a good pro lab for making prints. If you don't know of one around you, ask some pro wedding photographers where they send their stuff. They'll usually tell you.
