I've often wondered what a cityscape would look like in IR... thanks for sharing your vision. This is great.

Thanks Leanne, Carolyn and Connie. Well, most people seem to be fond of the nature subjects for IR. I like to experiment - you know, push the envelope. Didn't come out too shabby, I think. Thanks again.

Hey, I love your photo! I was wondering how you get that effect? I am not sure if it is a filter or what. I'm just beginning so forgive me. Thanks

Well, thank you so much, Seth and Dottie.

SETH: Its pretty involved. First I take the picture, of course; download it to my computer; solarize it as a facsimile red and white negative; greyscale it; resolarize it to make image components more distinct, and adjust both the gamma correction and lightness/contrast. Voila! I must tell you that, (if you can understand my technical gibberish) it doesn't work all the time and surely with not all images. Some are far more conducive to this kind of manipulation than others. Of course, the other way of doing it is the more traditional, with the use of a red filter (Hoya 72R or equivalent) etc.

Thanks for asking, though.
