Queen Anne in the Meadow

 Queen Anne in the Meadow
--- Near the base of an ancient tree in the Meadow at Bowmans Hill Wildflower Preserve (Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania), in OPPRESSIVE heat, my camera isolated this patch of multiple generations of Queen Anne's Lace. ---- The image "grew on" me!-----

 On the New York Ironweed
--- A female tiger swallowtail (black form) and a yellow form (lower right corner) of unknown gender enjoy the nectar of the New York Ironweed (the striking purple stalks attract an amazing variety of insects).

Both are lovely and would make for a nice mix in a vase. Guess your looking forward to today as they are talking 90's w near 100% humidity. Just Imagine your on assignment w. Nat. Geo. & that your shooting deep in the rain forest. OR ELSE HEAD FOR A POOL !!! My solution and salvation from heat & back pain ;o)STAY COOL JAck

I like this study very much. Like Jeff wrote, the light is wonderful. The stages of growth make it. Brava.

The Queen Ann always reminds me of the doilies that grandma used to make. So pretty and elegant. Its a shame sometimes that a plant has to be called a weed especially when it produces beautifully colored flowers like this that the butterflies seem to enjoy a lot. Beautiful pictures my friend.
