OLD MAN WINTER

OLD MAN WINTER
OLD MAN WINTER

He's On his Way...
AND HE DOESN'T LOOK HAPPY!

* * * * *

Rumor has it that OLD MAN WINTER is Santa's Brother. Hard to believe they were both brought up in the same North Pole!!

One brings us brutal cold and the other brings us presents to warm our hearts, to make up for his brother's behaviour. :)

STAY WARM AND DRY EVERYONE!

  HeeHee :D Hi Avril, Brother John and Nancy! :))) Avril you are the second one to say this. he is a huge wooden statue at a Buddhist Monastery that BPer, Mary Robison, and I visited one day!! --- WOW, John 104f? And only your first day of summer! Yikes!! --- Nancy, the Almanac actually calls for a milder winter...but we know how that goes. OLD MAN WINTER has different ideas! :O Thanks everyone!!

  Not bad here so far and no snow yet. I'd love some for Christmas though. A cute capture, Laura!

  Such a very cute capture, Laura!! Looks like a gingerbread buddha. Think he will be more cheerful when he is riding in his brother's sleigh!! Fantastic details and capture!!

  I do NOT like the look on his face, Sister. What has he got in plans for us this Winter I wonder? It doesn't promise well, that I can tell.
Apart from that I think this is an awesome creation. The frost (or is it cobweb?) is a fantastic framing of this special face.
P.S. We were always told that Santa lives in Greenland? When did he move to the North Pole? Oh, maybe there are two?

  Yes he does look angry, maybe he's not to keen on Winter either. He sure makes for a great photography subject, hope he brings you a mild Winter=^..^=

  So sorry I missed this til now, Pom. I've never found a good way to display this guy from our day at the temple, but your frosty version is PERFECT, as is the story for it!
Winner!

  Hi Carol, Terry, Ellen, SSSKiki, Emile, Amalia, Chris and Mary :) This sure was a commanding and BIG statue. I changed out the background because it was a wall and window behind him. Then added a framing that reminded me the most of snow. :))) Maybe one day I WILL write a short story about him for kids everywhere that do not appreciate Santa like they should! (HeeHee). Thanks for the nice comments everyone and for the visit. -SSSPommy Doodle.
