Lesson 1: What's Your Passion and Natural Talent? Knowing Thyself
Get the answers to the #1 question every person asks: who am I? (That's no small ambition but we can do it!). Discover your talents and heart-driven passion. Knowing yourself and your greatest passion in photography... this is always a great place to start.
Assignment: Applying Yourself in your Passion
Lesson 2: Advanced Design: Beyond the Rule of Thirds
Topics include the golden rectangle, advanced principles of graphic design, negative space, and more.
Assignment: Masterful design
Lesson 3: Becoming a Master of Light, Part 1
Understand tonal contrast, shadow vs. sunlight and high contrast, getting detail and color in both extremes; other ways to fix light problems (vs. coming back at another time of day) - i.e., reflectors, changing your composition, face another direction.
Assignment: Obtaining extreme detail and/or HDR
Lesson 4: Becoming a Master of Light, Part 2
Night and low-light photography, overcoming challenges of photographing at the best times: when the light is low and when the environmental conditions are, let's just say, no picnic.
Assignment: Painting with light and other low-light fun!

- A working knowledge of aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
- A willingness to try new things ... i.e., venturing outside your creative "comfort zone"!
Who is the course intended for?
This course is open to any photographer who wants to give their photography skills - and their creative vision - a giant boost. But this is not a beginning class, so you'll need to know the fundamentals - i.e., how your camera works, and a working knowledge of f/stops, shutter speed and ISO.
What kind of equipment will I need to complete the photo assignments?
Any kind of camera is fine as long as you can adjust the shutter speeds and lens aperture. This course doesn't require an arsenal of lenses, but you will need wide-to-telephoto capability. Also, you'll need a tripod.
