What skills do I need to take this course?
This course is open to any photographer who wants to improve their ability to make better photographs that capture where they are, where they've been, and what they experienced.

What equipment do I need to make the most of this course and do the weekly assignments?
You will need a camera that allows you to control ISO. For lenses, zoom lenses that allow you to get in closer are wonderfully helpful! You will want to be able to capture a variety of compositions, at a variety of distances.

Is it okay with you if we submit previously created work for critique? Do I need to go on a trip during this class?

I love travel photography. I find it actually enhances my present moments and joy during the journey. I notice and appreciate more of my surroundings as I'm looking for images to capture. For these reasons, I am a prolific photographer when I travel, and not so much when I'm at home. You will see most of my photographic examples from my journeys through the US, the UK, and Europe.

But you don't need to travel to make great photos of places. You can create awe-inspiring photos anywhere, without spending the time or expense of travel. You will still be able to capture a gorgeous, impactful collection of photos, even if you don't venture farther than your own backyard!

You do not need to go on a trip to take this class. It would be best to go out and create new work based on each homework assignment. But if you need to, you can submit previously created work.

Do I have to be online at any specific time?
No, you do not need to be online at any specific time. The lessons are sent to your email and you are also provided the Campus Square - where you interact with your classmates and instructor. This is also where you upload your photos to be critiqued by your instructor. The instructors are very punctual and respond quickly.

Will I have access to the instructor to ask questions during the photo course?
Absolutely! Students can ask questions in the special Q&A forum set up in the course's Campus Square, or can ask the instructor via email.

I have always loved landscape photography but have only really taken general photos. This course taught me a whole new way to look at things.I also feel much happier abou taking photos in the middle of the day.I always tried to keep people out of my photos but now I see how beneficial they can be to some shots. Thank you Denise it was a great course. Val Husband

Thank you Denise, I learned a lot in this class, the importance of going in closer and closer on a subject, the importance of light and , most important for me, to put people in my images. I usually didn't do that, I found it distracting. But in this course I learned how important and improving this can be. Thank you again Denise.

I just wanted to say thank you for a very enjoyable and informative course. I am so inspired by your photos. I really enjoyed your photo books online as well. I enjoyed them thoroughly. I will definitely be using the techniques and ideas learned in this course on my trip to Europe this summer.
