I’d like to recommend Picture Window Pro 8.0. It’s a free resource from Digital Light and Color (https://www.dl-c.com/). I’ve never used Photoshop but I think it has many of its capabilities. In the web page there are many reference manuals and a great tutorial. It’s my favorite software because it has lot of editing tools and is totally FREE!

Most of my work is accomplished using Lightroom. For some things I will use Photoshop, Topaz Impressions and Textures, Topaz Studio 2, occasionally a few other Topaz products, Skylum Creative Suite (old MacPhunn version which includes a few of interest but most especially Tonality, DxO Nik Collection with most use of Silver Efex, also ON1, PTgui, Aurora HDR, Photomatix, Helicon Focus, and few others.
