I much prefer honest straightforward comments on my photos. Its hard to give honest comments because you don't want to offend anyone.
Well... If you can remember that what anyone says about your photos is just their opinion. I will be happy to give my honest opinion to a few
photos each week. If your interested, let me know.

Taken in the Hill Country of Texas during the bluebonnet blooms last week. We were on the tail end of the blooms but other wild flowers were blooming as well but not at this spot, Feel free to give me a critique.

Gwen, I love your title for this photo. Well, as I see it, the first problem is a Nature and Landscape photo in portrait mode. This only works in very limited photos. Next your leading lines lead away from photo not into it and lastly your DOF is very weak.
This is just my opinion so go with what you see.

Thanks for offering this Bob. I know I'd be interested in feedback, from you or others here. And I'd be happy to reciprocate! Maybe we can make it a regular thing?

Here's a recent one of mine, I'd be interested in thoughts to improve:

I overall like this a lot, Gwen. Thanks for sharing it. my main comment is that the left side seems a little low, maybe rotate a little clockwise.

Larry, I find no fault with this photo.I think maybe you could improve it by taking out the paint ( horse on the left).
I find that my eyes are drawn in 2 directions. This is troubling to the judges.
I would love your honest opinion on any of my photos.

Thank for the feedback, and explainINT “Paint”! My thought at the time was that 3 horses would be better than 2, but I can see that the other horse doesn’t really mesh. Not in color, position or pose. Maybe I’ll experiment with a crop, or just plan a trip back to Cades Cove (which is sadly 500+ mile away!).°

Larry, removing the horse will save your 500 mile drive.
LOL. By the time I could get back down there, the dogwood wouldn't be in bloom, the background would've "greened up"... Actually, I went back and looked at me unprocessed images, I have a couple of a wider shot, with 4 horses (those 3 and 1 more), and 6 (those 3 and 3 more). I should play around with them. I did post a wide shot also, but it didn't include the dogwood...

Can we all comment on these photos?

Yes, I should rotate a bit. This was taken with my Iphone with no adjustments.

I would take the horse on the right out as he is not facing the camera. This would balance the photo more with the horses more on the left and the flowering trees on the right. Taking the horse out on the left would leave a very unbalanced photo. I could not get the photo to enlarge. I also use PE so if I have questions, I'll ask you, Do you have '24? I do and love the sky replacement feature.

I must respectfully disagree with Gwen. Like I said earlier, All a review is, is an opinion.
There is nothing of interest on the left side of the photo. The right side has the 2 horses and the Dogwood. You want to draw the eye to those.

Thanks Gwen, more to ponder! I’m using Photoshop Elements ver 21.0, 2023. Stand alone version.

I was hoping we cold make this a regular feature but there doesn't seem to be much interest

Like anything else, it will take some time to generate some momentum. Maybe they could make a dedicated "Constructive Criticism" thread, instead of dropping it in "This and That"...
