Padlocks bearing messages of love began appearing on a Portland, Maine Commercial Street fence in early 2013 and a seed was planted in the name of love. Tradition calls for throwing the key into a nearby body of water or over a cliff. The practice appears to have started in Europe. Photo Contest Finalist Editor
