“Cougar” by LYLE GLASS.

A portrait of a cougar relaxing in the evening. Medora used to have a small native animal zoo, and this cougar and his mate were the star attractions. The cougar became a pet of mine, as I worked at the zoo part time. The cougar would lay by the fence , purr like a big kitten, and let me pet him. I often would go in the compound with him and he would brush up against my legs. But I always kept my eye on him.
Photographed in Medora, North Dakota in September 1980 in the p.m.
