“Littel Red Caboose20150121 6671cropped painting”
by Sonya Hatfield-Hall.
This is the little red caboose that no longer is behind the train on a regular basis. The image tells a story, but not one that most people would know. In the photograph, you can see the NW under a layer of red paint. The NW is the Norfolk and Western Railroad that is now the Norfolk and Southern. The once shiny red caboose signaled the end of the train. When we were children and stopped by a train, we looked for the red caboose. Such joy when we finally saw it and knew we would be moving on our way soon.
Though I feel the photograph is rather boring as a photograph, I was playing this morning and painted the image and now simply love it!
Let me know your thoughts.
