William McKinley, 25th President of the United States, was born in my husband Jack's hometown of Niles, Ohio. Every year, thousands of tourists vist the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial in the city's downtown. The 232-foot by 136-foot monument was built with Georgian marble; the left wing houses a public library and the left is a museum and community room. The center, supported by 28 columns like these, includes a large statue of McKinley and bronze busts of prominent men who were associated with him. It's Friday - enough said!
