Although this appears funny when you read the sign and see all the (muddy) water around it, it is also sad because of what it represents. This is a sign that is posted on the Cobblestone at the edge of the Might Mississippi River in Downtown Memphis, TN. It was taken on Saturday, May 7, 2011, as the river is causing major flooding in the Mid-South and driving many people to evacuate their homes.

The river was at around 46.6 ft when this was taken and flood stage is 34 ft. It was expected to crest at 48 ft around 7:00 pm CDT today, May 9, 2011.

This is history in the making.
