I was shooting fall color landscapes when this Spruce Grouse landed in a tree right beside me (only about 8 ft. away). I very carefully pointed the camera at it and got a couple shots before it flew away. It blended in with the foliage so well that it was hard to find in the viewfinder despite it's close proximity.
