The white flower of the Joy Perfume Tree Magnolia (Michelia) champaca 'alba'. The tree on my block has been brutally hacked by its owner (who had been denied a permit to remove the tree last year). There is a hearing today regarding the fine imposed by the city for illegal pruning.
The flowers of this beautiful tree have a scent that is so special, it is used to make Joy perfume, the most expensive perfume in th world.
Taken inside in candlelight, then enhanced with poster edges.
