FINALIST ~ FEBRUARY 2013 ~ FLOWERS
I went to the web and found out a few things about this flower that are quite interesting. One it usually blooms at night and the flowers are closed during the day unless it is overcast and I lucked out as it was windy & cloudy when I photographed it.
Datura Inoxia or D.wrightii or D. meteloides.
It is also named Hindu Datura, Indian Apple, Jimson Weed, Sacred Datura, Devil's Trumpet and Thorn Apple.
It comes in pure white or with the purple edge as in my image. The whole plant is poisonous.
