Sallie Chisum was a businesswoman, caregiver to the sick and companion to children. The book she holds in her hand was published years after her encounters with Billy the Kid but reflects their history together. She was one of 1st traders in Real Estate, operated their 1st post office and ran a boarding house for travelers.
