Being raised the son of an island fisherman, I have always been inspired and captivated by coastal images -- the sea, the sunrises, the sunsets, the lighthouses, the lifesaving stations, and especially the faces of island people. So, quite naturally, I started capturing some treasured places and cherished faces at age 17. That was over thirty years ago. My first best image was a sunset silouette of my seven-year-old brother sitting on a fallen liveoak tree situated where the waves meet the shore. Since then, my passion for day-by-day creativity with a camera has only deepened. I've had all the cameras, from Hasselblads to Nikons, but now most use the Panasonic FZ-20 and love it! I love the simplicity and quality of the Panasonic system with Leica lens and believe I am recording better images than ever before. A Nikon D-70 is still my fall-back shooting piece. I married my high school sweetheart over 30 years ago and now we have a 23-year-old son, and a 21-year-old daughter. The newest member of our family is a Beagle puppy named "Oreo." He's 7. I've always loved the Peanuts Cartoon Strip by Charles Schultz, and now that I'm older, I'm amazed that it seems that I'm living with a "Snoopy" dog and looking more like "Charlie Brown" all-the-time. My life's goal? To be respected, appreciated, and loved most by those who know me best. Personally, I am not a real religious person, but I do have a real relationship with my God. There's a huge difference. As I see it, He is the Real Creator of the images I love to capture. I thank Him continuously for giving me light, vision, and Hope. My life's joy description is to BE LIGHT and GO SHINE!(Photo on this page was taken of me in the Christian Quarter of Old Jerusalem, Summer 2006, during the Israeli and Hezzbollah War. The stores were closed in protest. I was on my way to pray at Golgotha. Photo by my prayer partner, Steve.) ALL JOY! K.W. <'(())><
