Hi there. I'm Ed Vatza. I was born and raised in a small Pennsylvania town (Hellertown in the Lehigh Valley) where I still live today. As I approach retirement, I look back on a career where I have held various marketing positions with ad agencies and in the private sector.
I have been an avid lover of nature and the outdoors for many years enjoying both hiking and fly fishing. This interest eventually turned my attention to photography in an attempt to capture the beauty that surrounds us every day and to enable me to share my vision of the world with others.
From the outset, my focus has been on photographing the natural world that is available to almost every person almost every day. There is no need to go anywhere special. I look to capture the landscapes, trees, flowers, and wildlife that the ordinary person can see almost anywhere regardless of where they live. They have only to open their eyes and look around them. In a sense, I view myself as a street photographer of the natural world. But my difference is that I want to be able to capture these ordinary, every day features of the natural world in extraordinary ways ways that leave the observer wondering how did he do that?
