I've been taking pictures as long as I can remember. My two main cameras are currently my Canon 5d Mark II and my DroidX phone. I adore my 5DMkII and my growing collection of lenses, but I also love taking pictures with the Droid, since it's always with me, satisfying the urge to compose and capture in a tiny, easy-to-use package. I enjoy the challenges of working with the primitive phone camera and making adjustments for the different way it handles available light. It also gives me a catalog of ideas to return to later with full equipment.

My paid job is in software development but my more captivating, unpaid work is in developing my own photography. I like to return to the same subjects, always trying to improve how I capture them. I use Photoshop CS5 for post-processing, primarily in Camera Raw. Since I spend so much time on the computer already, for the most part I don't spend a lot of time making major enhancements in Photoshop. I do make exceptions though, when a photo asks for a particular technique in order to maximize its potential. I also do a fair amount of black and white work with which I love trying to achieve the best qualities of dynamic black and white film photography.

I am inspired daily by all the wonderful photos here on BP, and I welcome all comments and suggestions!
