I grew up and went to school in Boston, Mass. Upon graduating from high school, I took up the martial art, Okinawan Goju-ryu karate which I trained in until I was drafted into the US army in 1965. After a tour of combat in Vietnam in 1967, I returned to my interest in karate and picked up my first camera a few years later, which was a Nikon EM film camera. As my interest in photography grew, I later got a Pentax K1000; then a Nikon N6006; then a Nikon N80. My first DSLR was a Nikon D100. I now shoot with a Nikon D300 and a Nikon D90; and my photographic interests are nature and landscapes. I do a lot of my shooting in the southwest area of the US, because that open un-spoiled and majestic landscape offers a lifetime of spectacular photography. I hope to get to as many National Parks of the US as is humanly possible. Photographing the natural world, is to me "Like being born again or renewed each time I enter these magnificent parks". Now retired from the US postal service... I now start my quest!!
