Hi! I am from South Africa. One of my hobbies is hiking in the mountains, and (according to my opinion), most of our hiking trails are amongst some of the most scenic in the world. This is where my passion for photography started. I recently bought a Canon 1D MKII and Canon 500mm F4 L USM. I still have the 20D and 100-400 L USM, which will mainly be used by my beloved wife, but will also serve for back up purposes.

Bird photography is my specialty, but I love to take pictures of wild life animals and people alike. Another favorite is greyhounds; these dogs sometimes run at speeds exceeding 60Km p/h and are therefor very tricky in photographing. One of my goals in photography is to submit an award-winning photo.
